During the Industrial Age, the neighbourhood of Pollokshaws flourished as a textile centre, resulting in an influx of highly skilled Flemish weavers to meet workforce demands. But what is the fabric of the city around us composed of now?
Last Sunday, groups from Refuge set out on 3 routes to explore, observe, and engage the urban environment around where we meet on a Sunday. It was the first part of a process of mapping the area as we seek to discern what the spiritual needs of those around us might be, and consider how we might engage with the context that we are placed in.
