On Sunday, we said our goodbyes to the Cools family who have moved to Arnhem land in Northern Australia. We sent them out by laying hands on them and praying for them, and we marked the occasion by sharing a family feast together after the morning worship service, which we enjoyed in the hall.
Such an occasion like this will always be tinged with sadness—we were saying goodbye to our dear friends—but we do so also with great encouragement and anticipation that the Cools are answering a call from God to love Him by serving others in Arnhem through the ministry of Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). By serving the Aboriginal communities in this way, it also affords the opportunity to proclaim the gospel of Jesus to them.
At Refuge, we will continue to uphold the Cools family—along with all our missionaries—in prayer. It is our prayer that God would go before them, and that their ministry and mission would flourish by the enabling power of His Spirit. We pray for lives transformed in the Arnhem communities as they hear and respond to the gospel. May God bless you abundantly, Cools!
Finally, a farewell message from the Cools family:
We have been so encouraged with all the support we have received from Refuge over the few years we have been part of the family. Hans starts the pilots standardisation course on the 13th November, so we will have a few days to settle down before this starts. Thank you for all your help and friendship, you will be dearly missed.
