the Lord will provide
Sometimes knowing in your head and knowing in your heart that God provides are very different things. I know in my head that God provides, but sometimes my reaction to certain situations shows that it’s just that, head knowledge.
But, then, God does things to reconnect the heart to that knowledge…
In the last 2 months we’ve had some really big expenses on the car. Now living as a missionary is quite tight to begin with, but then having to replace a front and a back windscreen, and pay for the road tax—all within two months—puts a very real strain on the finances. I must say that I was already very concerned about how we were going to afford to get through the end of the month, when I got the call from Melissa that the back windscreen was smashed. I tried my best not to show these worries to Melissa (or anyone else around) but in my heart I was praying:
God, we need a miracle.
Coming back in my office the very next morning, there was an envelope sitting on my keyboard—when I opened it contained exactly half the money that we were needing to pay.
